Continuing Professional Development

CPD is about much more than ticking a box on a form. It is about committing to excellence in everything one does.

The importance of continuing professional development (CPD) for Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) cannot be overstated. In a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, CPD is crucial for SAI professionals to maintain their competencies at a high level.

In response to the demand for continuing professional development, IDI has set up CPD opportunities for its graduate pools of Learning Specialists, PESA Graduates and AQMS graduates. According to the initiative, these opportunities include a range of roles and responsibilities for both the IDI and graduates.

CPD empowers professionals to:
Stay Relevant: The public sector is dynamic. New laws, regulations, and standards are introduced regularly. CPD keeps professionals abreast of these changes, ensuring that competencies remain relevant.
Enhance Skills: CPD enables SAI professionals to refine their competencies, learn new methodologies, and master the latest tools to increase efficiencies in work.
Build Confidence: Investing in personal development enhances the ability to tackle challenges with confidence. Whether it’s presenting findings to senior officials, navigating a difficult audit, or facilitating a learning session, CPD ensures that the professional is confident in their competency.
Innovate and Inspire: CPD encourages people to think creatively and explore new ideas. Fresh perspectives in the workplace both enhance individual performance and inspire a broader team.
