“While we discovered to have many of the processes in place, understanding how they fit together was another story. At the beginning, it felt as if we were working on a puzzle without the box—lots of pieces, but no clear picture. The pilot project helped us to see how these individual processes fit together, revealing the complete picture of our audit quality management system. During the journey, where we were strongly supported and led by our IDI colleagues, we managed to move from focusing on isolated pieces to understanding the holistic system.”

The quest for enhancing the quality of our audits and adding greater value to our stakeholders has been greatly enriched through this project. “Our SAIs overall experience during the SoAQM Pilot has been quite interesting and challenging at the same time. Through the activities of the Pilot, especially the training and needs analysis our team has been able to deeply review and rethink the impact the implementation of the new ISSAI 140 is going to have in our SAIs quality management system. It has enabled us to objectively evaluate what we already have in place and correctly assess our need in terms of review of our current practices and look at them through a better prospective.”

“I must say that this is a very interesting project. For the first time, we are starting to study the ISSAI standard before its entry into force. The whole process is highly interactive. The training sessions have been particularly interesting. The materials provided have also been very useful. We are considering using many of them as examples in the new system. I have to admit that it increases the workload a bit, but it is proving to be quite useful in terms of learning a new system. We are confident that the new system will be beneficial in many quality-related matters.”
