Purpose and Intended Audience:

This side event aims to showcase how partnerships have helped shape Supreme Audit Institutions’ (SAIs) contributions to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The side event will also explore opportunities for leveraging partnerships and working together to add value to emerging areas affecting the implementation of SDGs.

This side event will bring together SAIs, INTOSAI bodies, and key stakeholders from UN agencies, international organisations, civil society, academia, and governments to discuss and showcase innovative approaches in partnering across the accountability ecosystem in:

• Enhancing competencies to audit SDGs implementation in a SIDS context
• Multi-dimensional poverty and the principle of Leave No One Behind (LNOB)
• Synergies in audit of SDGs and audit & assurance of Sustainability Reporting in the Public Sector
• Strengthening fiscal ecosystems for implementation of SDGs
• AI and Technology in audit of SDGs

The event is co-organised by INTOSAI Chair (SAI Egypt), INTOSAI General Secretariat (SAI Austria), INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI), and the Permanent Mission of Egypt to the UN in New York, in collaboration with the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA). The INTOSAI Chair will be represented at the event by the Vice-President of the Accountability State Authority of Egypt.
