SAO and its partners gathered for a Lessons Learned Workshop to reflect on the progress, challenges, and future priorities emerging from the Sustainable Financial Audit Practices (SFAP) initiative, supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in collaboration with IDI.

Over the course of the initiative, SAO achieved several important milestones:
✅ Developed an ISSAI-based Financial Audit Manual
✅Piloted the manual in a financial audit engagement
✅ Strengthened the auditors’ capacity to apply the methodology in practice
✅Developed a pool of future facilitators to support sustainability and further knowledge sharing within the institution

The discussions reaffirmed the importance of continuous learning, institutional ownership, and ongoing implementation efforts to strengthen high-quality public sector auditing and support effective public financial management in the Lao PDR.
