When Technology Works, So Do Public Institutions

As governments go digital, oversight must keep pace. Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) need the right systems, skills, and strategies to lead in the digital era.

pICTure, the INTOSAI Development Initiative’s (IDI) programme on digitalisation and ICT governance, helps build digital-ready SAIs that manage and use technology effectively so they can govern better, audit smarter, and lead boldly.

At its core, pICTure helps SAIs plan for, invest in, and manage digital transformation responsibly. Going beyond tools like hardware and software, it supports SAIs by building their capacity, leadership, and security infrastructure to meet today’s technological demands.

What is pICTure?

pICTure is IDI’s global initiative on ICT governance and digital transformation. We help Supreme Audit Institutions understand their digital needs, strengthen ICT management, and lead change with confidence.

Our approach is practical and people-focused. We work with SAIs to:

  • Assess digital maturity and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop clear ICT strategies and action plans
  • Build leadership and innovation capacity for digital change
  • Strengthen information security and data protection
  • Connect SAIs with development partners to secure support for digital investments

By combining technical guidance, peer learning, and partner-driven engagement, pICTure helps SAIs close the digital gap by turning ambition into action.
