About Eurosai
EUROSAI unites 50 SAIs across a uniquely diverse region – stretching from Reykjavik to Baku. EUROSAI membership reflects a broad spectrum of governance systems, institutional capacities, and audit mandates. Established in 1990 as part of the INTOSAI regional structure, EUROSAI promotes cooperation through Working Groups, and other collaborative mechanisms. The region is widely recognised for its diversity, strong peer-learning culture, and commitment to innovation in public sector auditing. While their contexts vary, EUROSAI members share a common commitment to strengthening public sector oversight and accountability.
IDI works in close partnership with EUROSAI to support this commitment, offering targeted capacity development, peer exchange, and innovation in auditing practices.
Why IDI-EUROSAI Cooperation Matters
EUROSAI’s rich diversity of audit institutions brings both opportunity and responsibility. IDI’s collaboration with EUROSAI recognises this uniqueness and adds value by being tailored, embedded and strategic.
IDI contributes to EUROSAI’s strategic goals and activities through global and regional initiatives tailored to the region’s diversity.
EUROSAI members engage in IDI initiatives in a variety of roles – sometimes as contributors or resource persons supporting peers, and at other times as participants when an initiative aligns with their own development priorities. These roles vary depending on each SAI’s context, expertise, and capacity-building needs.
