Meet the IDI Board
IDI's Board is composed of ten members from different supreme audit institutions. Get to know them better in our "Meet the Board" series.
IDI was established at the 1986 INTOSAI Congress with the mission to support SAIs in their efforts to provide high quality audits, promote good governance and fulfill their roles and mandates.
The Supreme Audit Institution of Canada first hosted IDI from 1986 to 2000. Since 2001 the Office of the Auditor General of Norway (OAGN) has hosted IDI, as approved by the Norwegian Parliament.
IDI has developed considerably over the years. We have moved from a training facility to an organisation focussing on institutional and professional capacity development. In recent years we have started to support SAIs to strengthen their institutional capacities and their own performance. In addition, we have put a lot of efforts into enhancing our IDI results frameworks.
Working with peers and partners from INTOSAI bodies, INTOSAI regional bodies and other stakeholders have been a critical part of the IDI. This model has contributed to IDI’s success and has been refined over the years.
Today IDI’s work benefits Supreme Audit Institutions from over 140 developing countries and contributes to making a difference in the lives of citizens from these countries.
