AFROSAI-E held its 2019 Strategic Review & 16TH Governing Board meeting in Mozambique from 6-9 May 2019. The conference was officially opened by the President of the Republic of Mozambique who in his speech highlighted the key roles that SAIs play in the accountability of public resources. The discussions of the conference focus on among others;
- Auditing of infrastructure
- Sustainable Development Goals/ Africa Agenda 2023
- African Peer Review Mechanisms, Outcomes
- Public Finance management framework tools
- INCOSAI Thematic links with AFROSAI-E programmes.
The AFROSAI-E Secretariat also shared the draft 2020-2024 highlighting four goals; Professionalise public sector accountancy, Empower SAIs for greater audit impact and quality, Transform SAI organisational capabilities for greater impact and Lead by example and deliver on our mandate.
IDI, together with other partners was invited to share in the various interventions being implemented in AFROSAI-E. During this presentation, IDI shared on the new strategic shift 2019-2023, Performance on the implementation of IDI programmes in 2018 and New interventions for 2019 going forward. Side meetings were also held with selected SAIs that are taking part in the IDI-AFROSAI E Bilateral support.
