Meet the IDI Board
IDI's Board is composed of ten members from different supreme audit institutions. Get to know them better in our "Meet the Board" series.
The DFID funding is structured as 60% core support for the new IDI Strategic Plan 2019-23. This prioritises supporting SAIs to become independent, well-governed, professional and relevant audit institutions. It also focuses on integrating gender throughout delivery of IDI’s work and encouraging public audit bodies across the world to better integrate gender issues into their organisations and audit work.
A further 30% of DFID funding is earmarked for country level support for SAIs in countries of mutual interest. DFID and IDI will jointly select the locations for this support based on SAI need, state fragility, and national commitment to strengthening financial accountability and transparency.
Finally, 10% of the support is for IDI’s new Global Foundations Unit (GFU). GFU works on global policy level issues including IDI’s triannual Global Stocktaking Report on SAI Performance, global advocacy, helping broker support for SAI capacity development, and strengthening partners. GFU also carries out the functions of the former INTOSAI-Donor Secretariat, which DFID previously supported.
The grant award is part of DFID’s Fiscal Accountability, Sustainability and Transparency (FAST) programme, which funds work to reduce public sector corruption, and improve government accountability and service delivery. FAST supports several international organisations working towards these goals, and facilitates greater cross-working between them, including the International Budget Partnership, Transparency International, the Open Contracting Partnership, and IDI.
